In March the chamber welcomed Mr Kerwin JnoBaptiste as the new Executive Director of the DAIC.

“I am elated and honoured to join the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce as your Executive Director. I would like to thank everyone for a warm welcome, especially President Brenton Hillaire and the board of directors as they see it fit that I represent the chambers, although following the footprints of Ms Fabien will not be easy; I see this as a great opportunity to make a difference towards growth in Dominica’s economy. As your Executive Director I stand by three main principles resilience, sustainability and innovation, these principles I look forward to channelling through the chamber’s objectives.

My set of professional experiences includes several positions in the private and public sectors. I have worked for international organizations such as Clear Harbor, and YUM! Brands. Most recently, I worked for the Discover Dominica Authority, serving as the Events Assistant for the Dominica Festivals Committee under the Ministry of Tourism. In these roles, I was responsible for activities including budgeting, financial management, committee and volunteer management, project writing, events implementation, marketing initiatives and press briefings and consultations.

I thank the DAIC Board of Directors for this leadership opportunity. I recognize that I have a lot to learn and I intend to invest time and attention to get to know and understand the chamber’s culture; policies and procedures; and the legislative environment impacting the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). I stand with the DAIC board in its commitment to developing resources designed to educate and help members navigate a pathway toward a successful future.
Lastly, along with the directors, we at the secretariat recognize that you are the backbone of Dominica’s economy and we are all focused on ensuring that you receive all the benefits by ensuring business continuity and improvement opportunities.”
